The First Project of the New Year

After many requests I am now attempting to create fairies and fairy homes.  The homes are being made out of painted gourds and polymer clay flowers.  I'll post when I have one closer to finished:)

Flowers for my new project

January 2012 Here's to a New Adventure

It's the beginning of a new year.  So I decided to start a blog to archive my creative process.  This time of year is usually recovery season after the hectic craft show and holiday season.  To my surprise I received a call from one of my most loyal customers a week into the new year.  It was a surprise because mainly as an ornament designer the end of the holidays usually translates to the end of the ornament season as well.  Christina however called to request some new designs as she normally does each year (usually before Christmas).  It was just the encouragement I needed at just the right time.  We spoke and as I was thinking of her collection that she has ordered through the years I was imagining she might have 6 or 8 of my ornaments.  I was shocked to hear that her current count was 19!  And she wanted more...I had thought of her through Christmas and had assumed she had met her quota of collecting my ornaments.  As an artist or creative being there is nothing more motivating than someone who appreciates what you do.  (Especially if they're not related to you).  So she has thrown me back into the game.  I have been playing around with some ideas in my head and am now ready to start pouring them out.  Stay tune to see the progress.

PS Christina has been the inspiration for some of my most popular and best selling ornaments.  It's funny what some quality inspiration can produce.    Kind of curious where her new requests will take me:)
